Thyme - Thymus Vulgaris
This is a very decorative low shrub with pink flowers that are very attractive to bees. It grows to a height of 37cm and the leaves can be used for flavouring meat.
Sow from early April to early June in open ground or cold frames. Thin out the seedlings as they grow to 5cm apart. Plant out during September and October, spacing 30cm apart for flowering throughout the following summer. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil.
