Beetroot - Cylindria
This variety is often known as the housewife's favourite, as the medium length, cylindrical roots make this variety ideal for slicing and easier to prepare than globe types. The beetroots have an excellent flavour with a rich, red colour.
Sow the seed from March to July, thinly in shallow drills 1.5cm with 30cm between rows. Do not transplant. Thin the seedlings gradually as they grow to an eventual spacing of 10cm. Harvest from June to October.
