Broccoli - Cardinal
This is an early cropping variety which produces deep purple shoots with an excellent flavour.
Sow the seed from April to May thinly in a well prepared seed bed, 1cm deep in short rows. As the seedlings appear, gradually thin to 7cm apart. When seedlings are about 10-15cm tall, transplant to the growing site spacing plants about 60cm apart. Water well and firm soil around roots. Harvest from March to May the following year.
