Cabbage - Durham Early
This variety produces dark green, medium-sized heads, which have a good texture and flavour. Durham early is a good variety for cutting early as "Spring Greens" before full maturity.
Sow the seed from July to August thinly in a prepared seed bed, in shallow drills 2cm deep. Keep well-watered. Can also be sown in modules or pots and transplanted to final planting positions when 15cm tall. Thin the seedlings as they appear to 5cm apart. Once seedlings are 10-15cm tall, transplant to their final growing site spaced 35-40cm apart.
