Cucumber - Burpless Tasty Green
What the Americans call a "slicing" cucumber, Burpless Tasty Green produces long, slender fruits with an excellent flavour. It is highly digestable and bitter free.
Sow the seeds from April to May on the seed edge to prevent rotting, 1cm deep in individual 9cm pots. Plant under glass at a constant day and night temperature of 21°C. As soon as the seedlings have formed 3 true leaves, transplant into 15cm pots. When the plants are about 10cm tall, plant out into final positions into large pots or growbags under glass. Provide some form of support and tie in stems as required. Can be planted outdoors once hardened off and all risk of frost has past. Grow up against netting or allow to trail along the ground. Ready to harvest from July to September.
