Onion - White Lisbon

This is the traditional "spring" onion. White Lisbon boasts long, white stems with bright green tops which are slow to form a bulb and contains a delicious mild flavour. This variety are ideal for patios. One of the most popular crops for the gardener, onions are a huge must for any allotment holder or for the gardener who has their own little vegetable garden at home, as they are so versatile and can be used for a variety of different things.

Sow from February to June. Early sowing can be made under glass in pots or seed trays. Sow seed on the surface of compost and lightly cover with a sprinkling or vermiculite or compost. Keep at the temperature of 14°C. Outdoor sowings can be made in April; sow seed thinly in shallow drills 1.5cm deep, with rows spaced 30cm apart. Greenhouse sown modules do not require thinning and can be moved to a cold frame in April to harden off before planting outside 7cm apart for clusters of salad onions. Outdoor sowings can be pulled and used as required. Ready to harvest from 12 weeks from sowing.

Normally all orders made by 1pm on working days will be shipped the same day although it may be a bit longer at busy times. If you have ordered larger quantities of commercial seeds delivery can be slightly longer. If we encounter any problems we will contact you.

We ship with Royal Mail or for large items where we use DPD or similar reliable carrier.
