Coriander - Leisure
Coriander Leisure is specially bred for its ability to produce a lot of leaves and bolt much slower than traditional old types. It boasts a good flavour and colour and grows to a height of 60-90cm. The leaves are delicious when sprinkled over salads or in soups and the seeds can be used to flavour curries, and go well with white meats and fish.
Sow from the seed all year round. Sow thinly April to June direct outdoors where they are to crop, 1.5cm deep, into finely-prepared soil. Alternatively sow seeds in succession, 1.5cm deep, in small pots of compost. Lightly cover the seed with a sprinkling of compost on a warm light windowsill all year round. Thin outdoor seedlings to 25cm apart. Indoor crops all year round, outdoor crops from May. Pick a few leaves, as required, from each plant so that they regrow quickly.
