Antirrhinum - Snap Happy Mixed
Antirrhinum is more commonly known as the ever popular Snapdragon, the flower to show your children and grandchildren that the flowers really do talk! Snap Happy Mixed is a semi-dwarf selection in a blend of colours for bedding and is a stunning colour range for borders. It is also suitable for inter planting in window boxes and grows to an approximate height of 35-40cm, making it an attractive cut flower for the home.
Sow from February to March on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Keep at a temperature of between 20-25°C. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination which usually takes 10-21 days. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost has passed, 30cm apart in well-drained soil in full sun. Flowers from June onwards.
