Snake's Head Fritillary - Fritillaria Meleagris
This is a truly spectacular wild flower which grows very easily when it has established. It likes spaces with light shade. The colour of the flower may vary but will have the distinct spotty flecks.
Sow the seeds direct in location or in pots, and place in a cold frame. Germination can be very slow so be patient if it takes time. If they are sown in the autumn, keep them moist as they need the period of cold. Pot up as they germinate. If they are to be sown in the spring they may need to be placed in the freezer to imitate the winter.
