Phlox - Twinkles
Twinkle is a half hardy annual, which produces delightful star shaped flowers in a range of cream, pink and red bi-coloured shades.
Sow from February to April on the surface of good, free-draining seed compost and lightly cover with a sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 18-20°C until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost has passed, 23cm apart. Seeds can also be sown outdoors where they are to flower. Sow 6mm deep in rows, 23cm apart. Flowers from June to September.
