Rudbeckia - Goldilocks
This variety stands out amongst all other varieties with its large, double and semi-double, golden-yellow flowers with attractive black centres. They are long lasting and free flowering, reaching the height of up to 60/70 cm, with 10cm blooms.
Sow from March to May on the surface of good, free-draining seed compost in pots or trays. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 20-25°C until after germination which usually takes 7-21 days. Do not exclude light as this helps germination. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm apart. Flowers from July onwards.
