Sunflower - Big Smile
Big Smile produces bright, golden yellow flowers with black centres. It is an extra dwarf variety with a smile, ideal for Pots and containers.
Sow from late March to early June direct into weed free flowering site about 2cm deep. Alternatively, you can sow indoors in early spring. Sow seeds 12mm in individual pots at 20-22°C). Germination normally takes between 7-10 days. Once the plant is established, gradually harden off and plant out in early June, when all changes of frost has ceased. If sown direct, thin out seedlings to about 30cm apart. Sunflowers do no like transplanting and are short lived if subjected to this process. Prefers a well-drained soil in full sun. Flowers from July to September.
