Purple Loosestrife – Lythrum
This variety features tapering spikes of purple-red flowers from June - August and dark green willow-like leaves. It is an excellent gargle and wound cleanser that rapidly stops bleeding.
Sow outside from March to May, in a very fine seed bed. The seed is like dust and should barely be covered or preferably just watered in. It prefers sun or partial shade in a moist position which does not dry out.
