Salad Rocket - Eruca Sativa
This is a superb salad with leaves of a delicious spicy flavour. It is quite unique and compulsive eating.
Sow outdoors in February and March direct into soil in a coldframe or under cloches. Later sowings in open ground. Sow in shallow drills about 1cm deep in rows 25cm apart. Thin out the seedlings as they grow to a final spacing of 15cm. Pick leaves regularly to prevent the plants quickly running to seed. Sow in small batches each month to ensure a continuous supply of fresh leaves.
