Lavender Vera - Lavendula
This is a tall growing variety suitable for hedging or individual plants. It features silvery foliage and lilac flowers that are highly scented. It grows to a height of 50cm.
Sow inside in small pots or trays. Cover with glass until germination occurs. Keep at 20C. Prick out when large enough and gradually harden off. Alternatively, sow outside in spring or late summer, barely covered with soil and kept watered. Transplant to final position in the second year. It prefers a sunny position and well-drained soil with plenty of lime. Germination can be slow and erratic.
