Wild Flower – Betony - Stachys Officinalis
This variety features pointed, toothed leaves with attractive pinkish-purple lipped flowers carried on top of the stem. It is found in old grassland and is an attractive addition to grass/wild flower mixtures for naturalising, especially on clay soil. It flowers from May to August, and grows to a height of 45cm.
Sow in spring in good garden soil and cover lightly. It is best grown in sun or partial shade.
