Verbena Bonariensis
This variety features airy and light lilac flowers that look fabulous in a bedding border. It is ideal as a cut flower and grows to a height of 120cm.
Sow under glass at 21-24C in a good seed compost. Before sowing, soak the seeds in water for 24 hours. Cover the seed lightly with vermiculite after sowing and cover with black foil or polythene that is permeable to air. Moisture control is very important for successful germination. Keep soil slightly moist to dry. When the seedlings are large enough to handle, prick out into trays 4cm apart. Gradually harden off before transplanting out into the flowering site during May.
