Oriental Vegetable - Burdock
This vegetable features a long 30-60cm root that has a delicious bitter-sweet flavour. To cook, peel, slice and saute with other vegetables. It can be sown, grown and harvested as a parsnip.
Sow from spring to autumn. Soak the seeds for 12 hours to help germination, and then sow in pots or trays in a greenhouse at 20-25C. When the seedlings are large enough to handle, plant outside spacing 10-12cm apart.
