Spinach - Reddy F1
This is a unique variety ideal for baby leaf salads. It has an attractive red stem with an oriental shaped leaf and is very sweet in flavour.
Sow outdoors in April/May, sowing thinly in-situ 1cm deep in rows 30cm apart. For baby leaf, thin plant to 7.5cm apart. If growing on to large plants, space at 15cm. Use any thinning in salads. Soil must be kept moist, but not wet - do not over-water. Alternatively, sow outdoors as above in August/September in a cold area, and cover with a cloche if the weather is bad. Also, it can be sown in autumn in blocks or small pots, and then transferred in late autumn into a unheated greenhouse.
