Marigold - French Boy O Boy Mixed
This is still one of the most popular Marigold varieties because of its excellent garden performance. The plants are very uniform, compact and free flowering and produce a beautiful range of double crested flowers including some stunning bi-colour shades.
Sow seed on the surface of good, free-draining, seed compost. Cover seeds with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a plastic bag and place at a temperature of 20-30C until after germination which usually takes 7-21 days. Do not exclude light as this helps germination. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into trays or 7.5cm pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 37-45cm apart.
