Climbing Bean - Pantheon
Pantheon has a vigorous plant habit and slow seed development within the pods to give an extended picking season. It can also be sown and grown under glass for even earlier crops. It produces bumper crops of mid green, well-flavoured, stringless, flat and juicy pods, approx 25mm wide and 25cm long.
Sow seed outdoors in warm soil, sowing 2-3 seeds in a cluster 5cm deep. Allow 20cm between each cluster, and 45cm between the rows. Protect against late frosts or cold winds. Plants will need support with canes or netting. Hoe regularly and keep well-watered and mulched during dry periods. Pick beans regularly whilst still young and tender for the best flavour.
