Organic Spring Onion – White Lisbon
This is a quick growing variety with a delicious, pungent flavour. It is popular and reliable for successional sowings throughout the season. Delicious when young, it becomes more pungent as the stems enlarge and start to bulb.
Sow seeds from March to August, successionally every 3 weeks. Sow seeds thinly in either narrow or broad drills, 12mm deep, allowing 23cm between drills. No thinning is necessary. Sow seeds regularly throughout the season from late winter, at 3 week intervals. It prefers rich, moist, fertile soil in a sunny, open situation. Keep well watered during spells of dry weather. It stands well for long periods if kept well watered.
