Organic Cucumber - Picolino
Cucumber Picolino is all-female flowering so produces many fruits and requires regularly harvesting to maintain production. Its crisp, juicy half length 'mini cues' are ideal for slicing and used up in one meal with no waste. It has good powdery and downy mildew resistance.
Sow seeds from February to May for indoor growing, April to May for outdoors. Sow seed 13mm deep in 7.5cm pots of free-draining compost. Place in a propagator and keep at a temperature of 20-25C until after germination, usually 5-7 days. When first true leaves develop, transplant into 13cm pots. Finally plant into 25cm pots or growbags. Grow on at a minimum of 15C. Support on a strong cane or netting, allowing the main shoot to reach the top of the cane. Pinch out growing point and allow two side shoots to trail downwards. Keep plants moist at all times and shade if necessary. Keep humidity high and pick fruits regularly.
