Organic Beetroot – Bolivar
The tender, globe shaped roots of Beetroot 'Bolivar' have beautifully smooth skins and a rich, deep red colour. This high yielding variety is ideal for harvesting as baby beets while young, or let them mature for a delicious full sized crop. Height: 30cm. Spread: 15cm.
Sow seeds directly outdoors from March to July in a weed free, sunny position in fertile, light, well-drained soil. Sow beetroot seeds thinly in shallow drills at a depth of 3cm and 30cm apart. Germination will usually take 12 to 24 days. When large enough to handle, thin out the seedlings within each row to 10cm apart.
