Tomato - Essex Wonder
Reintroduced from Garden Organic's Heritage Seed Library, this is an outstanding commercial variety from Essex up to the 1950's producing good sized fruits averaging 11 to 13 fruits per kg with a balanced acid/sweetness flavour of yesteryear.
Place seed on the surface of a good, free-draining, damp seed compost and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator at a constant temperature of around 18-20C until after germination, which takes 7-14 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 7.5cm pots. Plant in final situation when 20cm high, 45cm apart. Remove sideshoots regularly.
