Lettuce - Relic
This is a breeding development of the heirloom “Deer’s Tongue†to give improved uniformity and good mildew resistance. It features a distinctive and attractive, eye-catching loose leaf plant habit with reddish maroon, narrow pointed leaves with a pleasant taste and texture.
Sow thinly, 1cm deep in drills 30cm apart in soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Water the ground regularly, especially during dry periods. It prefers a moist, well-drained soil in full sun. When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 30cm apart. Harvest as and when required. It is recommended for successional sowings.
