Radish - Crimson Giant
This variety features large, crimson skinned, globe roots up to 4cm in diameter with crisp, firm but juicy and tender white flesh. The roots are slow to go 'pithy'. It is suitable for earlier sowings under glass, but primarily a summer radish outdoors.
Sow from February to March in frames / under glass, or April to August outdoors, at 4 week intervals. Sow thinly, 1cm deep in drills, 30cm apart in soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Water ground regularly, especially during dry periods. When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 2cm apart. Keep plants cool and moist to prevent running to seed. It is quick maturing, from 30 days from sowing.
