Thompson & Morgan s RHS Kids Poppy Ladybird 150 Seed

£1.69

Poppy - Ladybird

This is a charming relative of the corn field poppy producing shining crimson single blooms with a black blotch. It is easy to grow and cheerful. It was developed using a species introduced by our founder Wm. Thompson, from Russia in 1876.

Sow early spring to early summer outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Sow 1.5mm deep in rows 30cm apart. Germination usually takes approximately 21 days. When large enough to handle thin out to 3cm apart. They prefer a hot sunny open site and free drained soil, but will grow in most sites and soils. Remove seed pods before the seed is shed if you do not wish them to self-seed.
