Salad Leaves - Speedy Mix
This is a really quick growing mix for those gardeners who cannot wait. It produces a tasty blend of tastes, textures, colours and leaf shapes for sandwiches, salads and garnishes. It grows quickest during the summer months when it will produce 'salad leaves' in about 25 days, but can also be sown all year indoors. This mixture contains: Salad Rocket Victoria, Greek Cress, Mizuna, Mustard Green & Red Frills, and Pak Choi Canton White.
Direct sow salad leaves outdoors in summer, or in an unheated greenhouse during the autumn and winter months. Grow salad leaves in well prepared, fertile, moist soil in sun or semi shade. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of 1cm in drills 38cm apart in soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 10cm apart for baby leaves or to 30cm for mature plants.
