Cabbage - Savoy Estoril F1 Hybrid
Savoy Cabbage Estoril produces an attractive, round, mid green, savoyed heart, approximately 500g in weight. This variety is delicious eaten raw, adding texture and taste to a summer salad.
Sow seeds February under glass for earliest crops. Sow seeds on the surface of free-draining compost in trays, then lightly cover with a sprinkling of vermiculite. Place tray in a propagator at 20-25C until after germination which takes 4-7 days. Plant out when plants have 2-3 true leaves. Sow seeds outdoors from March to May. Sow seeds thinly in a well prepared seed bed, 13mm deep in drills 23cm apart. Plant out to 45cm apart each way when large enough to handle, approximately 5 weeks from sowing.
