Felicia Bergeriana
This is a very easy to grow annual, known as the Kingfisher Daisy because of its daisy like flowers. The plants form a mat of bright green foliage and from the beginning of summer to first frosts, they will continually be covered in flowers of electric blue with a typical yellow daisy-like centre. It is good value for money, and can be used to edge borders and beds, or simply in containers and window boxes. Height: 15cm.
Sow 1.5mm deep in good seed sowing compost from late winter to late spring. Germination takes 7-14 days at 18-20C. When large enough to handle transplant the seedlings to boxes or 7.5cm pots, and grow on at 13-16C. When well grown gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions and plant out in late spring after all risk of frost has passed 15cm apart. After flowering if the plant is cut back it will produce a second flush of flowers. It can also be grown as a flowering pot plant in the cold greenhouse.
