Tagetes - Paprika
For a non-stop display in your borders or containers, Tagetes ‘Paprika’ will not disappoint. Bushy, mound-forming plants with finely cut leaves quickly become smothered with a mass of small maroon, daisy-like flowers with a golden centre. Enjoy the added bonus of the citrus-scented foliage as you pass by.Sow seed on the surface of good, free-draining, seed sowing compost. Cover seeds with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite or seed sowing compost. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag and place at 20-30C until after germination which takes 7-21 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into trays or 7.5cm (3in) pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 15-20cm (6-8in) apart.
