Thompson & Morgan Fruit Melon Orange Sherbert F1 Hybrid 4 Seed

£3.99

Melon - Orange Sherbert F1 Hybrid

Now you can grow delicious ripe melons outdoors in the UK! Melon 'Orange Sherbert' produces netted skinned 'charentais type' fruits that are more oval shaped than round. Each orange fleshed fruit weighs about 500g on compact, semi trailing vines that can be harvested from midsummer. Height and spread: 2m.

Sow from early April to May under glass to transplant outside. Sow seeds 1cm deep in pots or trays of good seed compost at a minimum of 20C under glass or in a propagator. Protect emerging seedlings from direct sunlight to avoid scorching. Alternatively only in the warmest areas, sow direct outdoors, 1-2cm deep from mid May. Pot on individual seedlings into 7.5cm pots of compost and keep barely moist to avoid stem rot. Maintain a temperature of around 20C. Harden off, and for earliest crop plant under cloches or in a frame once frost risk has passed, or outdoors.
