Salad Burnet
This is an unusual herb with leaves that have a delicate cucumber taste. Can be used widely in salads, as a garnish, added to soups or cooling drinks similarly to Borage. Chopped leaves can be mixed with butter and cottage or cream cheese for a tasty sandwich.
Sow seed thinly, 1cm deep in drills 30cmapart in soil that has been raked to a fine tilth. When large enough to handle, thin seedlings to 23-30cm apart. Harvest leaves when young, picking only a few from each plant.
