Malope - Glacier Fruits Mixed
Very useful plant for rapidly filling space in your border, the Malope is a good, bushy plant with large, often 5-7.5cm flowers. This special blend shows the great effect achievable with red and pink, along with a catalyst of white. Height: 45-60cm.
Germinate February to April at 20-30C on the surface of a good free draining, damp seed compost. Apply a layer of compost, 1.5mm deep. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 7-14 days. Do not exclude light at any stage, as this helps germination. Can also be sown direct outdoors in May. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 7.5cm pots. Grow on in cooler, well-lit conditions. When well grown, acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out after all risk of frost, 9cm apart.
