Chrysanthemum - For Anthony
Help to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust by growing this special Daisy, with pure white petals and a rich golden centre. Easy to grow, 'For Anthony' is long flowering, ideal for borders and also makes an excellent cut flower.
Sow February to July at 20-25C on the surface of a good free draining, damp seed compost. Apply a fine sprinkling of vermiculite, but do not cover the seed completely. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 5-21 days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination. Transplant seedlings, when large enough to handle into 7.5cm pots, and grow on in cooler conditions for at least 14 days before planting out. Plant outside after all risk of frost, 3-45cm apart. Cut back stems to ground level each winter.
