Aquilegia - Nora Barlow
This is a must for the flower arranger! It is a beautiful border plant with fully double, nodding blooms in a wide range of colours, from pastel pink shades through to deep ocean blue, with some petals tipped in lime green. They also make superb and unusual cut flowers. It flowers early summer. Height: 76-100cm.
Sow from late winter to early summer 6mm deep in a good seed compost. Make sure that the compost is moist but not wet and seal in a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 25-35 days at 15-20C. Transplant when large enough to handle into 8cm pots. Later plant out 3cm apart into moist but well drained soil in sun or part shade.
