Brachycome - Little Missy
Each pretty lilac blue, daisy-like bloom has a distinctive yellow central eye surrounded by a white halo. Brachyscome 'Little Missy' blooms over a long period, making it perfect for edging paths and borders or as an eye-catching container plant on a sunny patio. Height and spread: 25cm.
Sow Brachyscome seed from February to April on the surface of a good, free-draining, damp, seed compost and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place the pot or seed tray inside a polythene bag or in a propagator at a temperature of 18-21C until after germination which usually takes 7-21 days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 7.5cm pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Pinch out the growing tips of young plants to encourage bushier growth. When Swan River Daisy plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting outdoors. Plant Brachyscome at a distance of 23cm apart in full sun in any fertile, well-drained soil.
