This is a very fragrant plant from the high mountains of Tibet. Umbels of bell-like violet, yellow or white flowers grow on strong stems in early spring.
Sow the seed finely and evenly, and cover with a thin layer of compost. Keep moist and warm. Pot up and then place out in final location.
