Snap Pea - Quartz
This is a 'maincrop' snap pea which is semi-leafless for easier picking and has less need for support. The pods are stringless with a succulent sweet flavour and the plants show resistance to powdery mildew, Fusarium and other diseases.
Sow outdoors from March to June where they are to crop, in flat drills 15cm wide and 5cm deep, in well-cultivated, fertile soil. Sow in a zig-zag fashion along the drill, allowing 5cm between seeds. Fill the drill with fine soil and firm down gently. Allow 90cm between rows. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 10-18 days. Harvest from May to September.
