Tomato - Steak Sandwich
These large, luscious beauties offer old-fashioned tomato taste for sandwiches and salads. They remain firm when ripe, so you can slip a slice into your favorite summer sandwich, BLT or burger and savor the rich, succulent, sweet taste. The vigorous compact plants load up with dozens of fruit at a time.
Sow in pots from February onwards. Sow seeds on the surface, cover lightly. Do not allow the soil to dry out. Hold containers in warm conditions until shoots appear, which may take from 3-10 days. Move seedlings immediately to bright light conditions, such as a south-facing window. Inadequate light is a frequent cause of failure of young seedlings. Pot on after first true leaves appear. At about the time of last frost, set out into grow bags. Do not allow the plants to get too cold.
