Sainfoin - Onobrychis Vicifolia
Sainfoin is a member of the pea family with stalks of bright pink flowers which appear from June to August. It is a perennial that is often found on chalk grassland, and also on roadsides and banks. Pollination is mainly by bumblebees.
Best sown in the autumn. The seed may benefit from light scarification to improve germination as the seed coat is very hard.
