Smooth Hawksbeard - Crepis Capillaris
Smooth Hawksbeard has a yellow dandelion type flower. It is a medium-height, annual or short-lived biennial. It flowers from June right through to December. Hawksbeard is often confused with a number of other weed species which look similar to it. In the vegetative phase, it is very difficult to tell apart from dandelion . Once it is flowering it also looks quite similar to weeds such as catsear, hawkbit and sow thistle.
The seed germinates in the autumn and overwinters as a rosette before flowering the following spring. It does best in areas of disturbed soil.
