Sow in trays in a cold frame or in a seed bed 1cm (1/2") deep.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
When seedlings are about 15cm (6") tall, transplant to permanent site, spacing 75cm (30") apart.
HANDY TIP
As soon as young shoots show at the beginning of the year, cover some plants with a bucket or upturned pot to produce an early crop. Do not weaken the plant by taking too many stems for the first two seasons. Avoid the leaves as they are poisonous.
