Its Easy to Grow Fresh Lettuce from Seed

Select and grow the best lettuce seed

Lettuce is an easy plant to grow, with a wide variety of types to choose from, including iceberg, loose-leaf, butterhead, cos, and romaine. It's worth experimenting with different types to find your personal favourites. You'll find that lettuce can be sown all year round, especially if you have a greenhouse or polytunnel.

Starting early in the season, we sow in the greenhouse for an early crop of tasty leaves, as they thrive in pots. Later, sowing directly outdoors will also yields good results.

Fresh Beans from Your Garden

Tasty Runner Beans from Seed

Easy to grow Runner Beans are of the best and most productive garden plants. There are many tasty seed grown varieties to select from that can be planted in a limited space. As well as growing the tall plants that need staking, you can even select from dwarf varieties for the patio. The most popular varieties include Runner Bean Scarlet Emperor or Runner Bean Enorma.

When to plant runner bean seeds?

They are so easy to grow, you can start indoors in quality compost or directly into the final location after all the risk of frost has passed. If planting undercover make the first plantings from the end of April.

The plants grow best in a nice sunny spot and like to be well watered.  Why not plant a few companion plants, we grow lettuce between the beans at the start of the season.
