Salad Leaves - Misticanza Miscuglio
This is a mixed Italian salad of chicories including red radicchio. This mixture contains no lettuce and is ideal as a perennial mixture for ‘cut and come again’. Red radicchio can be left over winter to head up or blanched for tender pink leaves. Green varieties can be left to grow on.
Sow all year round. Early and late sowings can be made in pots or troughs under glass for baby leaves. In late spring sow 1cm deep in rows 30cm apart or broadcast and rake in. Germination can be erratic if sown in hot weather. Keep moist but do not overwater. Thin seedlings to a spacing of about 10cm apart.
