This variety of green manure is best for sandy soils to add humus, and fix the nitrogen levels. It is also very attractive to bees if left to flower. Broadcast seed from March to June for digging before flowering, or July and August for digging in during the spring. This plant has many benefits, it can be grown as a nitrogen fixing crop while soil is bare. It also has herbal properties and attracts wildlife.
Sow at any time from march onwards, will be able to dig in after about 3 months.
