GROW WITH CONFIDENCE
Herbs don't need to be complicated. Start with a few pots, give seedlings plenty of light and keep an eye on watering. Some herbs grow quickly while others take a little longer, but once they're established you'll have fresh leaves ready whenever you need them.
There's no need to sow the whole packet. A few healthy plants can provide plenty of fresh herbs, and keeping some seed back means you can make another sowing later.
Give seedlings plenty of light and keep the compost reasonably moist without soaking it. Basil likes warmth, while parsley, coriander and chives are happier with cooler conditions once established.
Start picking once plants have enough growth to spare. Regular harvesting encourages plenty of fresh growth, although give small young plants time to establish before taking too much.
