GROW WITH CONFIDENCE
Growing from seed doesn't need to be complicated. Start with a few easy varieties, follow the packet instructions and don't feel you need lots of equipment. A pot, some compost and a sunny spot can be enough to get started.
It's tempting to empty the whole packet, particularly when the seeds are small. Start with a sensible amount and save the rest. You'll have more room for the seedlings and another chance to sow if the first batch doesn't quite go to plan.
Keep newly sown compost or soil moist without soaking it. Once plants are growing, check them regularly rather than automatically watering every day. Pots will need more attention during warm weather.
Don't worry if every seed doesn't germinate or every plant isn't perfect. That's gardening. Start with a few straightforward plants, see what works in your space and you'll soon discover what you'd like to grow next.
