Select and grow the best lettuce seed

Lettuce is an easy plant to grow, with a wide variety of types to choose from, including iceberg, loose-leaf, butterhead, cos, and romaine. It's worth experimenting with different types to find your personal favorites. You'll find that lettuce can be sown all year round, especially if you have a greenhouse or polytunnel.

Starting early in the season, we sow in the greenhouse for an early crop of tasty leaves, as they thrive in pots. Later, sowing directly outdoors will also yields good results.
